Valnastium

Magical Attributes

Aura. 3 in Town, 5 in Galleries, 7 in the Valley of the Magi.

Library. Below is a rough list of the highest level Summa in the Covenant. Those above level 10 have restricted access, even within the Covenant.

Creo 8, Intellego 15, Muto 11, Perdo 15, Rego 24*, Animal 11, Aquam 11, Auram 6, Corpus 15, Herbam 8, Ignem 8, Imaginem 11, Mentem 19, Terram 9, Vim 15. *This collection of volumes contains works by both Jerbiton and Tremere. There are only two copies in existence, this one and one in Coeris. Access is only with the permission of the two Primi, or their representative (Adolphus in Valnastium). This usually means that only senior magi of the two houses have access, although there are exceptions.

Aegis of the Hearth. 35 during times of crisis and during Tribunal years, otherwise 20. [Note: our saga has not included vis extraction, if it did the Lvl 35 Aegis would be used at all times. Possibly a higher one.]

Annual Vis Income. 4 Im Dye Powder - tribute from Al-Arama; 4 He Mistletoe; 6 He Moss from Steam vents; 4 Cr Acorns; 4 Ignem Steam from a vent that erupts once a year; 8 In Candle stubs from the mundane library; 8-12 An Squirrel Tail fur; 15-25 Mentem*.

*This is the prize for winning a game of Live Chess with the Dark Fae. Each piece player must represent that piece in some relevant way - Knights are armoured etc. Without enough power the other pieces may have enough power to stop themselves being taken. Valnastium's Knights have an advantage in that they use Iron weaponry and armour. Their Bishops have a problem unless they manage to find a holy man of some strength and persaude him to help. If the Fae win they get to keep the pieces they've taken for a year and a day (The quarrel of the 1190's came when they were kept for longer). If Valnastium win then the Fae "King" turns to Bronze and is taken by the Covenant. Dependant on the power of the Faerie who is "King", he is worth between 15-25 pawns of Mentem vis. Valnastium tends to win when they can find strong Bishops, especially if they have True Faith.
